As today is Armenan Genocide Remembrance Day we have an Armenian song from a few years ago.
Sirusho is an Armenian singer and songwriter. As the child of successful performing artists in Armenia she started singing at a very young age and first performed in public at singing contests and then started writing her own songs at the age of 7 years. She released her first album at the age of 13 and has since developed a large and loyal following. She represented Armenia at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) with her song Qélé, Qélé [Come On, Come On].
Antarber Ashxarh [Indifferent World] was originally released as a single in 2014 and was included on the 2016 album Amat. It is a lament for the victims of the Armenian Genocide, to bring hope to the dead and love to the broken hearted whose tears became an ocean in an indifferent world. It is a powerful, moving song that will bring chills to your spine, especially when accompanied by the video that contains many disturbing images from the Genocide. The song was written to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in 2015.
WARNING: This video shows images of the Armenian Genocide that may be disturbing to some people. You can follow Sirusho on her Official Website, on Facebook, on Twitter, on Instagram, and on her YouTube channel.
