Time for some comedy.
Malinda Kathleen Reese is an actress, singer and dancer from the USA. She started her YouTube channel in 2010 but it didn't take off until 4 years later when she took the lyrics of Let It Snow, from the Disney film Frozen, put them in Google Translate and have it translate the lyrics from one language to another, using the previous translation as the source of the next one, and finally back into English. She then sang the resultant lyrics to the original tune and backing. This video then went viral and started the hilarious series Google Translate Sings where she inflicts the same treatment to other well known songs.
The Sound of Silence was originally released by Simon & Garfunkel on their 1964 album Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M. and a remixed version was released as a single the following year. The original tells of a vision about the problems of society: of isolation; of people going through the motions of conversation but with no communication; of the worship of consumerism;, and proposes that the answer lies within the simple wisdom of the disenfranchised. This is another in the excellent Google Translates series with a suitable bus, a typical night, nudity, large numbers of transformers, deaf dogs, a toilet, a funny voice, and toast, among other things.
You can follow Malinda on Facebook, on Twitter, on Instagram, and on her YouTube channel. You can buy her music on iTunes.
