L’ Accordeoniste [The Accordionist] was originally released by Edith Piaf as a single in 1940. It is about a girl of pleasure who falls in love with an accordion player, delighting in his music, but he has to go away to the war, so she comforts herself by dreaming of how good their life will be when he returns, but he never returns from the war. This is a live performance from Nadezhda with a clear French flavour, even including a mime, and a live backing band.
