Alliluiya [Hallelujah] is a Russian version of the song that was originally recorded by Leonard Cohen on his 1984 album Various Positions. The Russian version was translated by Leonid Agutin for the Russian TV talent show Golos Detei [The Voice Kids] and the lyrics don’t follow the English, apart from the chorus, but instead thanks God for all of the good things in life and makes the song more appropriate for children to sing. This is an absolutely beautiful rendition of the song from these 5 talented young singers. Each of the girls gets a solo section that are a delight on the ears, but the harmony sections have a sound so sublime that they could only be equaled by a choir of angels. The delightful video that accompanies this performance was filmed in Nessebar, Bulgaria.
And here is the video of the full contemporary dance routine, Orphanage Dance, that appears in the Alliluiya video above showing that the girls are not only talented singers.
