This is an extra special post and is being posted on the first Anniversary of the death of Chrissy Amphlett. To properly commemorate Chrissy‘s life you must play the video very loud.
The Divinyls were an Australian rock band in the 1980's. Over the years the band went through many different line-up changes but the 2 main members were Chrissy Amphlett on vocals and Mark McEntee on guitar. Chrissy became one of the top rock performers in Australian history (and the top female rocker).
On April 21, 2013, Chrissy Amphlett died from breast cancer at the age of 53. Chrissy also suffered from multiple sclerosis which meant that she couldn't receive radiation treatment or chemotherapy. Her death has left a gaping hole in Australian rock music.
Boys In Town was the Divinyls‘ first single and was released in 1981. It also appeared on their first album, Desperate, in 1983 and in the film Monkey Grip. In the film clip Chrissy can be seen wearing her iconic school uniform and uses a neon tube as a prop.
